Position Summary

The Personal Injury Paralegal will oversee a full caseload from initial client contact to final settlement. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, deep knowledge of Missouri and Illinois personal injury procedures, and the ability to anticipate case needs before they become bottlenecks. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys to ensure cases move efficiently and clients receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Intake & Evaluation - Conduct initial client interviews, gather essential facts, assess case viability, and open new matters in the firm's case management system.

  • Client Relationship Management - Serve as a primary point of contact, providing updates, answering questions, and maintaining consistent, empathetic communication.

  • Medical Records & Documentation - Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and treatment summaries; maintain accurate documentation throughout the case lifecycle.

  • Demand Package Preparation - Draft and assemble comprehensive demand letters and supporting exhibits for negotiation with insurance carriers.

  • Discovery & Litigation Support - Prepare discovery responses, coordinate depositions, assist with expert scheduling, and support attorneys with trial preparation when needed.

  • Settlement Coordination - Assist with lien resolution, prepare settlement statements, and ensure timely disbursement of funds.

  • Court Filing & Deadline Tracking - File pleadings in St. Louis County courts and maintain accurate calendars for statutes of limitation and litigation deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement.

  • Proficiency with case management software (e.g., Needles, Filevine, SmartAdvocate).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with accuracy and minimal supervision.

  • Professional, empathetic approach to client interactions.
